Corrida do Dragão 2026 moves to Saturday, October 17

FC Porto, the FC Porto Foundation and GlobalSport announce that the 7th edition of Corrida do Dragão, originally scheduled for Sunday, October 18, will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, starting and finishing at the Estádio do Dragão.

The change of date is directly related to the UEFA Champions League match that FC Porto plays at the Estádio do Dragão on Tuesday, October 20. UEFA’s operational requirements establish that the stadium and its surroundings must be available from two days before the match, which makes it impossible to hold Corrida do Dragão on Sunday, October 18.

Aiming to keep the race on its original date, FC Porto made every effort to make it possible to hold Corrida do Dragão on October 18. As this could not be secured, it became necessary to move the race to Saturday, October 17.

Holding the race on a Saturday is a change to the usual format of Corrida do Dragão. It was, however, the solution found to guarantee the 7th edition in October, keeping the standards of quality, safety and organisation that define the race and the atmosphere that has made it one of the reference races in the city of Porto.

All registrations already made remain valid for the new date, with no action required from participants. The races stay the same: a 10 km race and a 5 km walk. Schedules, bib collection and other practical information will be announced soon through the event’s official channels and by email to all registered participants.

FC Porto, the FC Porto Foundation and GlobalSport thank all participants for their understanding and cooperation, as well as the Porto Athletics Association, Ágora and Porto City Council, in the face of this change of date.

The Organisation will refund the registration fee to participants who are unable to attend on October 17 and request it.

On October 17, the Dragão dresses in blue and white once again. We are counting on you!
